The Session included updates from the Working Groups on Harmonisation and Professional Development as well as a status report on the UN Global Marketplace (UNGM) and the projects on Vendor Eligibility, Collaborative Procurement and the UNGM Vendor Registration Reform. The new Vendor Management Working Group was established.
The 2013 Annual Statistical Report on United Nations Procurement (ASR) analyzes procurement from developing countries and countries with economies in transition, and examines the performance of the United Nations system in increasing opportunities for vendors in developing countries and countries with economies in transition.

The Session included updates from the Working Groups on Harmonisation and Sustainable Procurement as well as a status report on the UN Global Marketplace (UNGM) and the projects on Vendor Eligibility, Collaborative Procurement, Harmonisation and the UNGM Vendor Registration Reform. The concept of a new Vendor Management Working Group was further discussed.
Conclusions of the Fourteenth Session of the High Level Committee on Management’s Procurement Network (HLCM PN), Copenhagen, 25-27 September 2013. The Session included updates from the Working Groups on Harmonisation, Supplier Access and Sustainable Procurement as well as a status report on the UN Global Marketplace (UNGM) and the projects on Vendor Eligibility, Collaborative Procurement, Harmonisation and the UNGM Vendor Registration Reform. The concept of a new Vendor Management Working Group was discussed as well as the simplifying the sharing of LTAs.
United Nations procurement delivery in 2012 has increased by $1.1 billion over the previous year, representing an increase of 7.7%. In terms of procurement of goods and services, procurement of goods decreased by $258 million, while procurement of services increased by $1.4 billion over 2011. The 2012 data further confirms that the UN’s procurement volume of services far exceeded that of goods and thus reversed the trend of the previous years when the procurement volume of services had been declining.

This project led by the Procurement Network aims to simplify the registration process for UN Procurement in order to increase the number of vendors to compete for UN procurement contracts. The project uses the UN Global Marketplace as its platform.
