The IASC Taskforce on HIV in Humanitarian Situations was established in March 2007 to assess the implementation of the IASC Guidelines on HIV/AIDS in Emergency Settings and update them along with accompanying training materials, as well as to strengthen and harmonize the monitoring and evaluation of HIV interventions in humanitarian situations. The Task Force is composed of UN agencies, NGOs consortia, IOM and the IFRC and meets on a quarterly basis. It is co-chaired by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and a rotating representative of the non-UN membership.
